Sierra Nevada Trails - California Nature Tours: Schedule for Days 8-14 California hiking vacation exploring high mountain lakes, ghost towns and bubbling landscapes at Lassen Volcanic National Park

The second half of our Sierra Nevada Trails nature tour schedule starts off with some beautiful mountain lakes. We will continue to have a variety of hikes, walks and other activities available during the second half of our small group tour. First off is Convict Lake, one of our personal favorites, surrounded by majestic granite peaks. We continue to Mono Lake with its bizarrely beautiful Tufa formations. We will also visit the best preserved ghost town in California at Bodie State Park. We will visit other mountain lakes and even the famous Lake Tahoe. Eventually we will make our way to Lassen National Park, a monumental example of volcanic and geothermal activity. Afterwards we will travel through the Californian wine country and then to the astonishing Redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument. Day 8: Hike around Convict Lake, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes of the Sierra Nevada, surrounded by its high granite mountains. In the afternoon we explore Mono Lake, a beautiful alkaline lake. Mono Lake is a habitat for a large number of migratory birds, and quite the sight with its unique Tufa rock formations. Day 9: Walk through historic Bodie State Park along the streets of the best preserved ghost town in California where the gold rush days come alive. Stay for 2 nights in the middle of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. We will take a short hike along a mountain lake, with an optional boat rental available.	Bodie State Park	Silver Lake
Day 10: Hike near beautiful Caples Lake way up on high mountain terrain surrounded by fantastic landscapes to Emigrant Lake. Day 11: On to the famous Lake Tahoe, the largest mountain lake in the U.S., surrounded by beautiful coniferous forests. Travel through Californian Gold Country with a stop at the Plumas Eureka State Park where we explore an historic gold mining camp, remnants of the gold rush area. Day 12: Today's highlight is a hike through Lassen National Park. Lassen is a land of volcanic landscapes and activity. It is a fantastic sight with its awe inspiring colorful hot pools and bubbling ground, flower meadows and reflecting lakes.	Lassen National Park	Lassen National Park
Day 13: We continue through California wine country with a stop at a winery in historic Sonoma. Once more we will experience the extraordinary aspect of nature as we take a short hike through gigantic coastal Redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument.
