Santa Fe, New Mexico tours - Small Group Tour Travel

Experience the culture, art and history of lovely Santa Fe with a day of individual or guided exploration.

Wander along the quaint streets of Santa Fe, America's oldest capitol city.  Founded in 1607 by Spanish explorers this city has been home to the Pueblo peoples and the Spanish, then belonged to Mexico, and was finally ceded to the United States in 1846.  Originally dubbed 'La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asis' or 'The Royal City of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis of Assisi' this name was shortened to Santa Fe (holy faith) after the colonial period.  Present day Santa Fe is renowned for its unsurpassed ambiance and contemporary sophistication. The city is home to America's third largest art market and near limitless opportunities for shopping, dining and outdoor adventures.  Join our small group tour travel of New Mexico for the adventure of a lifetime.  Whether you choose to independently explore this city, or wish to participate in a guided tour, you can choose from many different sights and options.

Church in Santa Fe

"The City Different"- explore this unique area on our New Mexico tours.  Unlike most modern cities Santa Fe was developed using the planning of King Phillip II, whose city planning principals state that the city should be built around a central plaza and radiate outwards.  In Santa Fe the Palace of the Governors, the oldest public building in America, sits to the North and the main church to the East.  From this central area, around which you will find a multitude of colorful galleries and restaurants, the city spreads out.

Building in Santa Fe, New Mexico tours

Santa Fe is recognized as one of the most intriguing cities in the nation, due largely to it's mandated architecture and it's cultural heritage.  Many adobe-revival style buildings can be seen, as for example the Museum of Fine Arts pictured here to the right and well worth a visit both inside and out.  Take a walk outside of the city center and you will be impressed by the continuity of adobe style buildings.  Even the residential areas show off many lovely architectural gems.

Santa Fe Railway

Home to the famous Santa Fe Railway, a peek into western history.  This is the railway that economically revolutionized the West and brought widespread commerce to this once small and distinguished city.  The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad brought many people to the West and provided many with opportunities.  The Santa Fe line also included a tugboat fleet, airline, bus service and ferry in many locations throughout the country. On our tour you will have the option of visiting the historic Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe train and you can choose to take a train ride on the original desert route, experiencing this unique history first hand.  Learn about the fascinating past of this important railway line, listen to the music that made this train famous worldwide, and stop in at the lovely historic train depot for some photographs.  Every year many tourists flock to this region, and for good reason.  A trip to this city isn't complete without a visit to this railroad.
