Day 10 : Clearwater – Jasper – Miette Hot Springs, Alberta

Your journey leads to Mt. Robson Provincial Park, the crown jewel of the Rockies, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. At 4,000 meters (over 12,000 feet) Mt. Robson is the highest peak of the Canadian Rockies. You hike along a wild river up to Kinney Lake and enjoy a picnic with exceptional views of Mt. Robson. Then you travel on to Jasper National Park and stay for two nights inside Jasper National Park.

Day 11 : Day trip in Jasper National Park

Explore the magnificent Maligne Canyon on a hike over several bridges along a wild river. Later you travel to the second largest glacier-fed lake of the world, the Maligne Lake, where if you’d like, you can take an optional boat tour to Spirit Island, holy site of the First Nations. Alternatively, you hike along the enchanted, turquoise waters of the lake. Evening in Jasper National Park.

Day 12 : Jasper – Icefields Parkway – Bow Lake

Along the Icefields Parkway–one of the world’s most beautiful drives– you travel through magnificent mountain landscapes, stopping for photos at different viewpoints and waterfalls At the Columbia Icefield you may participate in an optional Columbia Icefield excursion or do a hike to the Athabasca Glacier. You spend the evening and night at an historic lodge with fantastic views of the glacier-covered mountains. Enjoy an evening stroll along Bow Lake.

Day 13 : Bow Lake and the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge

Hike along Bow Lake to an impressive glacier and waterfall. Relax in this peaceful wilderness while watching for wildlife. Our historic lodge has views over lake and mountains and makes for a perfect stop to enjoy the beauty of the Canadian wilderness.

Day 14 : Bow Lake – Yoho National Park – Canmore

Today you explore Yoho National Park. The first stop is the historic town of Fields, which comprises only a few wood structures but still emanates the atmosphere of an old pioneer settlement. Then, you hike to Takakkaw Falls. At beautiful Lake Emerald–the well-known setting of the German TV series “The Dream Ship”– you are invited to partake of a canoe ride. From here you travel parallel to the historic Canadian Pacific Railway. A highpoint of the later afternoon is a visit to Chateau Lake Louise on the lake. A side trip brings you to Moraine Lake for the most famous views of the Canadian Rockies. Night in Canmore.

Day 15 : Canmore – Banff National Park – Drumheller

Banff is one of the Canadian Rockies’ top tourist stops. You start your day with a tram ride on Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the views and a walk to the top. Later you relax in a nearby mineral hot springs. In the afternoon you visit a First Nations museum which provides glimpses into early life in Canada. Enjoy a walk along the Bow River with its waterfall. Travel on to Drumheller, in the badlands of east-central Alberta, for the night.

Day 16 : Drumheller – Calgary

Several short hikes take you to colorful, eroded formations within this desert landscape. This area provides a great contrast to the lush areas we’ve visited on this tour, and the hoodoos (rock towers) provide a fascinating photography oportunity. A stop at the interesting Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, with a collection of more than 130,000 fossils. A stop at an abandoned coal mine shows insight into the challenging lives of coalminers. Dinner together at a Tower with views over the city of Calgary. Night in Calgary.

Day 17 : End of tour

Today your tour ends. If you would like to explore Calgary, we are happy to do a post-reservation for you. From the base hotel you can comfortably reach any interesting destination by public transportation within the city.
