Pacific Northwest Explorer

June, July and August departures

Visit the most exquisite landscapes and historic towns of the American West. Departing from the cultural city of San Francisco you overnight in a historic Victorian town, then gain perspective as you wander among giant redwood trees. At Crater Lake National Park gaze into the intense blue of N. America’s deepest lake, pictured above. The high deserts of Bend and the volcanic Cascades, including Mt. St. Helens, provide a stark contrast to the sandy beaches and rugged cliffs along the Pacific Coast. Wander through Olympic National Park’s temperate rain forest, with thick moss hanging from trees and deep green forest floors. Besides varied landscapes the region offers a first-hand look at Native American and pioneer history. The eco-friendly cities of Portland and Seattle provide an oasis of culture among incredible natural surroundings.

Oregon Trail Dreams

06/26 – 07/09/2016

This small group adventure takes you into the heart of Oregon’s varied wilderness. We are convinced that this sparsely populated state will thrill you with natural highlights, just as it drew us in when we moved here 25 years ago. Fairy tale landscapes greet you, from the other-worldly painted hills and high desert of eastern Oregon to the crashing surf of the Pacific coastline and snow-capped slopes of the Cascade mountain range. With little visited waterfalls, crystal clear mountain lakes and wide expanses of ancient forests this tour offers a chance to experience the solitude and beauty of the lesser known areas of the state. We head into northern California with its popular wine region and end the tour with a drive over the world famous Golden Gate Bridge into the most beautiful city of the west, San Francisco.

Welcome to Springtime!

As the Easter bunny hides eggs for many thousands of children across the United States, and springtime flowers are in full bloom, both young and old celebrate Easter traditions. At the Nation’s capitol over 35,000 people gather to celebrate with President Obama for the 138th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. In New York City thousands wear Easter bonnets and parade downtown. This is the time where many of us head out into our gardens to plant our first crop of the year, and orchards are in bloom. However you may celebrate this season, we wish you a lovely spring and a very happy Easter!
